Apple has quietly acquired PowerbyProxi, which specializes in wireless charging

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Apple has quietly captured New Zealand’s PowerbyProxi, which manufactures wireless devices, according to a new report from Reuters.

According to the report, the two companies did not announce any details, but the New Zealand media confirmed this acquisition will contribute to the adoption of Apple’s largest wireless charging technology in its future equipment, despite the delay in adopting this technology compared to rival Samsung.

The acquisition will help Apple launch the newly launched AirPower platform and is expected to be available next year in accordance with iQ standards.

PowerbyProxi was founded in 2007 as a progressive project from the University of Auckland but quickly developed and secured an investment of up to $ 4 million from Samsung in 2013.
