When Apple announced iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X last September, Apple also announced the Apple AirPower wireless charging base compatible with its new smartphones that support wireless charging capability.
Now Samsung seems to be working on something similar. In fact, a new invention has recently been discovered by Samsung suggesting that the latter is working on a new wireless charging base that looks similar to Apple’s AirPower charging base, at least in the typical design. The patent shows us how to use this wireless charging base to charge a smart phone and a smart clock at the same time, and that’s really what you can do with the AirPower charging base.
In case you have not heard of AirPower before, it is a wireless charging base specifically designed to support the charging of multiple Apple devices, such as iPhone, Apple Watch and even AirPods. The concept of charging devices wirelessly is nothing new, but Apple has added its own touch to the technology.
However, it should be noted that Samsung already owns several wireless charging stations, but supports the possibility of charging only one device. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will turn this patent into reality.
