Samsung outperforms Intel as largest processor maker

Samsung posted a record profit of $ 12.6 billion in its second-quarter profit report. Of the $ 54 billion in revenue, $ 15 billion came from Samsung semiconductors, surpassing Intel’s $ 14.8 billion in this field Which means that Samsung has been able to move Intel from its position as the largest maker of chips in the world for 24 years to occupy Samsung this center.

However, Samsung has not only reached this status by selling processors; it has been providing different chips for years. While Intel focused on PC processors and servers after the wearable hardware department was closed last November, Samsung expanded to make phone processors as well as chips for the Internet and smartphones. Intel also surpassed Intel with products such as flash memory modules and a range of popular SSDs .

However, Intel has not yet given up, claiming that the next generation of Cannon Lake 10nm processors will have twice as many transistors as Samsung or TMSC processors.
