Google Chrome Extensions to Enable VPNs Infects Computers with Malicious Software

Yesterday, June 25, malicious attacks targeted users of the VPNs on the Google Chrome browser, malicious attacks that cause computers to be infected.

When you use Google Chrome, extensions will start opening a new tab with the link “https: // chrome-updates (.) Win / s (.html)” with permission to use the alert system. Opening a new tab will also trigger ads with inappropriate content.

Google pointed to the link that opens on the new tab as malicious content for catching. It should also be noted that the attack activity is monitored on computers running Windows, and Mac OS as well, as long as they use VPN add-ons.

Extras such as Touch VPN or HotSpot Shield with Betternet VPN are reported to have been infected so far without knowing the causes or mechanism that led to such attacks.
