Microsoft today announced the Age of Empires: Definitive Edition on the 20th anniversary of the release of the Age of Empires series. The new version is an improved version of the original game, a multiplayer mode for players on Xbox and a fully updated soundtrack. All game basics, including design and graphics, have been revamped, and a new zoom level has been created.
Microsoft has updated the user interface, has added attack movements, control groups, button for the lazy villagers and a number of other things. The way the parties work has been reshaped, and there is now a friend system as a result of using Xbox Live; the online version of the game lets you track your progress and compare it with other players.
Adam Isgreen of Microsoft Studios has revealed that a trial version of the game will be launched and can now be subscribed to from the game site. The full release of the game is scheduled for later this year.
